Monday, 22 April, 2024

A virtuous example of urban redevelopment for its design excellence, focused on efficiency and sustainability both during the construction and management phases.

Peninsula Gardens is the largest urban regeneration plan in Europe which consists of the redevelopment of a former industrial site into a new neighborhood for the city, with the creation of over 17,000 homes and 48 acres of public green space along the panoramic front of the Thames.

From start to finish, this ambitious masterplan will take 30 years and £8.4 billion of investment to execute, creating over 17,000 new apartments and 12,000 jobs along the way.

Within the plan, the Plot 19.05, developed by Knight Dragon and delivered by Mace, involves the construction of 431 "private for sale" apartments in the new Lower Riverside neighborhood.

The project will be delivered adopting a hybrid construction methodology using the latest in "construction to production" technology to shrink the programme, increase certainty and quality of delivery, and reduce carbon emissions.

The scheme will use innovative off-site solutions such as a precast concrete frame and a structural, concrete sandwich panel façade, 562 bathroom pods, 431 prefabricated utility cupboards, prefabricated balconies, air source heat pumps, district heating network and others sub-assemblies, with supply chain relationships all managed in BIM with LOD 300-350.

Sterchelegroup will design, manufacture and deliver 562 Bathroom Pods within the construction program, leveraging its own established technological expertise.
