INAUGURATED A HOSTEL AND THREE HOTELS IN MESTRE (VENICE) YESTERDAY: FOR CA ’MARCELLO AREA, 740 STERCHELEGROUP BATHROOM PODS

The Austrian real estate constructor Mtk Developments has invested 70 million euros to renew Ca ’Marcello area in Mestre  (Venice) with a typical building replacement operation in the third millennium. Its first intervention in Italy.

The complex was inaugurated yesterday in the presence of Mtk Developments, the designer Luciano Parenti, the mayor Luigi Brugnaro and municipal councilors.

Nearly two thousand beds at a walking distance from the railway line, five new buildings near the railway station and in direct connection with the “Ponte della Libertà” (the access bridge to Venice, ndr). Tourism vocation, for all budgets, from the hostel to the 4-star hostel, to give life back to an abandoned industrial area.

«A hotel is a tailor-made suit for those who manage it” - says the architect Parenti, who runs a studio specialized in the hotel sector, with a turnover varying between 2 and 3 million euros per year – “and when Mtk identified the brands that guaranteed long-term management, we had to deal with the performance specifications of the four structures.

For buildings facades we have proposed a framework of precast concrete panels, in the chromatic gradation of beige, alternated with full-height windows. We took advantage of a patent owned by Setten company in Oderzo, which worked on the site in a temporary joint venture with Di Vincenzo from Pescara and Pianca. Again, for the 740 bathrooms provided for the project - he adds - we have made up mock-ups with Sterchele, a company based in Vicenza, and industrialized bathroom pods arrived on site already tested, ready to be installed in the structure: a considerable time saving».
