The new MHOTEL DIAMANTE in Collegno (Turin-Italy) has opened just in time for Expo 2015.

A construction completed in 12 months after the beginning of works. A challenge for StercheleGroup® and its constructive systems which have demonstrated their effectiveness and completeness.

Designed by Arch. Antonio Pilli, the hotel is situated in a strategic position along the Turin ring road at the Savonera’s  junction and is equipped with all the comforts and elegance of a 4-star superior hotel.

The building is a three stories block featured by a “L” shaped layout, with an intermediate joint which divides it into two rectangles. The layout meets very well the dual accommodation value intended for this hotel: the typical autonomy and low-rise construction of a motel, combined to the typical organization of an hotel.

From the underground parking it is possible to access directly to one of the 100 rooms by means of 12 staircases or, using a private badge, by means of the elevators. The entire building is enhanced by a sloping wooden roof and characterized by a strongly projecting bay window at the top floor.

To fulfill the Client’s technical requirements, StercheleGroup® proposed the realization of an earthquake proof building frame, composed of prefabricated reinforced concrete elements, and placement of the bathroom pods before the concrete pouring operation to join all the concrete elements. The latter, together with the foundation works, were the sole operations carried out by the Builder, indeed.

StercheleGroup® designed, produced, delivered and erected all the prefabricated components of the entire structure: reinforced concrete wet joint columns, PREM SD truss beams with a concrete base, hollow core slabs, reinforced concrete walls for the elevators and the stairwells and reinforced concrete stairs made up of ramps and landings.

StercheleGroup® technology has significantly reduced the assembly time, which was realized by a team of three carpenters and one crane operator only.

The most peculiar feature of the project is the projecting volume at the top floor realized with one full height storey steel beams combined with PREM SD truss beams within the thickness of the slab.

96 No. lightweight bathroom pods have been delivered with finishes, furniture, light fittings, dual space jacuzzi and mirror clad wall integrating a hidden TV. Everything was ready to be connected to the MEP systems and this allowed great saving of time together with top quality finishes.
