Prefabricated solutions by StercheleGroup part of the Olympic Games infrastructure
Predazzo (Trento, Italy), 27 January 2026 – The Olympic and Paralympic Village in Predazzo has officially opened ahead of the Milano–Cortina 2026 Winter Games. Located within the Alpine School of the Finance Police and offering 691 beds, the Village will host athletes and teams from dozens of countries during the Olympic and Paralympic competitions.
The project blends renovated pavilions with new constructions, using a combination of modular and prefabricated solutions, timber, and reinforced concrete. It was designed with sustainability, energy efficiency, comfort, and full accessibility in mind.
As part of this project, StercheleGroup supplied 192 prefabricated bathroom pods for the Latemar UF2 Pavilion, which will eventually become part of the Finance Police school, and prefabricated staircases providing access to the new ski jumps at the G. Dal Ben Ski Jumping Stadium.
These prefabricated solutions allowed the construction to proceed quickly, reliably, and to consistently high standards, meeting the tight deadlines typical of an Olympic project.
After the Games, the Village and its facilities will continue to be used by the Alpine School of the Finance Police, serving as accommodation and training spaces for students and sports retreats.
This project demonstrates how smart design, prefabrication, and long-term vision can create infrastructure that serves not just the event, but the future.
