Collegiate Milan North: a 4-star student residence

Monday, 9 January, 2023

Collegiate AC Group lands in Milan, bringing to Italy an exceptional standard of accommodation for students and young professionals already popular in the UK and, recently, also in Spain and Portugal.

A new temporary residence for students, 700 beds divided into single, single plus and double rooms equipped with premium services and common areas for users: study rooms, conference rooms, indoor and outdoor cinema, bar-restaurant, fitness area, spa, multifunctional sports ground, indoor swimming pool and wide parking. Most of the common areas overlook the arched portico, which embraces an internal open-air courtyard arranged with greenery and pools.

The structure is located near the University of Milan Bicocca, in via Frigia 19, a strategic area well served by public transport which allows you to easily reach the best universities in the city.

The building consists of two bodies of 6 floors above ground and a basement, divided into standard accommodation consisting of a kitchenette, private bathroom and bed.

The building shell is acoustically and thermally insulated to guarantee a high standard of internal comfort and passive energy efficiency.

Structural and plant design treated the entire construction with technological measures for an "A4" energy efficiency class and were performed, as well as the architectural one, entirely with BIM technology.

StercheleGroup partecipated to the project with the design, off-site production and installations of 694 prefabricated bathroom pods, delivered and installed on site already complete with finishes, sanitary fixtures and accessories.

Before the mass production, StercheleGroup produced the prototype bathroom, also called “Sample Pod”, for verfication and approval by the Clients and the Designers, placed in the mock-up room on site.

Just the last finishing and from January 2023 the new student residence will host the first lucky 400 students.
