
Nearly two thousand beds close to the railway line, five new buildings near the railway station and in direct connection with the “Ponte della Libertà” (the access bridge to Venice, ndr).
In 22 months of construction, not without disputes and controversy due to the increase of low-cost tourist pressure on the lagoon city, the Austrian financial company Mtk Developments has achieved the redevelopment of Ca 'Marcello in Mestre town.
In a 16 thousand square meters area, between the railway, the homonym street and the railway overpass, the project, signed by the Venetian studio Luciano Parenti, has provided for the construction of a hostel, three hotels, three commercial spaces, a square, a playground, meeting spaces, green areas, a cycle path, direct connections to the station platform 1 and various interventions of urban reconnections; all equipped with a series of services, especially parking lots, partially provided by two silos.
The first hotel is already operational, but the official inauguration of the complex is scheduled for today Thursday 20 June. Within July, all facilities will be operational and bus rides in this area have already become frequent.
